CLINT WALKER
Bio: I started fishing aged just 11 years old, spending a few hours on a cement works lagoon where my dad worked, or trotting a lobworm down the River Hamps for trout, and it sort of developed from there! I’m now a bit older, and having spent time in the Royal Navy as a weapons engineer, and 21 years as a full-time firefighter, and I now write, and enjoy fishing for most species, for a living…
Hometown: Leek, Staffordshire Personal Best: Catfish 32lb, Carp 31lb 14oz, Bream 13lb 3oz, Chub 6lb 2oz, Barbel 11lb, Tench 8lb 7oz, Perch 3lb 2oz, Roach 2lb 2oz, Pike 24lb 6oz, Shark 170lb Favourite RAD Product: I’ve just taken delivery of the XL pod which I’m very impressed with, and it will be used for much of my river, and carp fishing, but I think my favourite item is the drop off indicator which I use expressly for my pike angling. I love the fact that they are adjustable for any thickness of mainline or braid, and the bright white indicator head means they are easy to see, even as the light levels fade… Favourite Venue: How can you answer that? Anywhere with fish in! I fish many of the local canals, dropshotting for perch which I absolutely love, I fish at Gawsworth Fisheries in Cheshire a lot as I love the variety, and I enjoy sessions on the River Dove, the Trent, and even the tiny Churnet as you never know what will turn up next! My preferred water at the moment is Stanley Pool in Staffordshire where I’m targeting pike, but in summer, I’ll switch back to Rode Pool, an estate lake full of tench and bream! Heaven! |
